BikeBlacklist was born in January 2025 from a simple idea inspired by a German watch blacklist. With over 10 years in the bike industry and a lot of experience in how to research, I created this resource site to protect buyers from low-quality and unreliable bike brands often sold online or in non-specialized stores.

 

These list is from a European - better say German - view point. When you are outside the EU, Australia or UK and consider buying never less from one of these brands, please check your laws regarding E-Bikes first.

It is also helpful in general for the industry. Bike stores can use it either for giving customers information about which company they need to contact, in case of they don't (can) repair the bikes, and Insurances and Police may have some of an overview of brands that offer illegal bikes inside of Europe and may ask a few more questions when seeing the brand's name.

 

Sadly, not every brand could be traced to a company. 

Some of the brands are actually changing companies, like pants. For those, who bought a bike from one of those, please check the date you bought it.
